The local authorities and functional bodies on September 14 were asked to carry out programs, aiming to closely manage and ensure safety for fishermen and fishing boats in the upcoming stormy season.

Accordingly, the provincial border guard will check the operation of communication equipment for fishermen while other bodies will be responsible for giving timely information about storms or tropical low pressure, helping fishermen anchor their vessels safely.

Also, training courses on capacity building for rescue forces will be frequently held, contributing to minimize the damage caused by disaster.

According to the statistics, Binh Dinh is seeing 8,200 fishing boats and over 100,000 fishermen in Quy Nhon city and districts of Tuy Phuoc, Phu Cat, Phu My, and Hoai Nhon.
