Tam Quan Bac fishermen form 84 allied groups of marine resource exploitation

Fishermen at Tam Quan Bac commune, Hoai Nhon district have established so far 84 allied groups of marine resource exploration in off-shore fishing grounds; each group has 4-5 fishing boats, says Hoai Nhon Station of Aquatic Resource Protection.

The groups help together in protecting the fishing grounds and Vietnam’s marine territory.

Binh Dinh Department of Aquatic Resource Exploitation and Protection has equipped the allied groups with satellite receivers using Movimar satellite observation technologies; covering costs of HF long – term communication systems connected to a satellite navigation receiver (GPS) for the regular off-shore fishing boats.

Tam Quan Bac has a fleet of nearly 700 fishing boats, including at least 900-CV 500 boats which major in tuna exploitation at southern fishing grounds.
