665.000 forestry seedlings provided for farmers
14:15', 25/9/ 2011 (GMT+7)

An Lao district’s authorities has spent 465.5 million VND buying 665.000 seedlings (mostly grafted acacia mangium trees) to provide for farmers at communes of An Hoa, An Tan, An Trung, An Hung, An Nghia, An Dung, An Vinh and town of An Lao. Combined and forest farms at An Hoa commune alone are provided 40,000 seedlings.

The seedlings would be grown over an area of 500 forest hectares in the afforestation autumn/winter 2011. The cost of the seedlings is from fund of Programme 30a/2008/NQ-CP by Prime Minister.

Given aggressive implementation of the local governments in land use planning for the afforestation; readiness of the farmers to dug holes, clear vegetation and put down basic fertilizers; transportation of the seedlings to the communes, An Lao is pushing up its rate progress of the afforestation for sake of timely season.
