PISA implemented in Binh Dinh

A training course on Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) was held on September 26 at Quy Nhon city by General Department for Testing and Education Quality Accreditation under Ministry of Education and Training.

Participants of the training course were representatives from offices of Education and Training in Binh Dinh, school managing boards and teachers from 50 secondary schools all over the provinces, directors of centres for continuing education and vocational training.

PISA is coordinated by Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It aims to help countries comprehensively evaluate “basic skills”, “personal capabilities” of their pupils and then build up new appropriate policies for sake of sustainable development of their education. The programme focuses on 15-16-year-old pupils of secondary and vocational training schools.

At the training course, expert team from the Ministry of Education and Training introduced about PISA and its assessment techniques, such as structures of exam questions and questionnaires, forms of PISA questions, roles and responsibilities of provincial Departments of Education and Training in preparation for the PISA official evaluation in 2012.
