Communication to raise awareness of solid waste

A workshop on exchange of experiences gained during implementation of project “Communication to raise awareness of solid waste in schools ” was co-organized by the project management unit (PMU) and Binh Dinh Department of Environmental Protection on September 29, at Quy Nhon city.

Workshop’s participants included representatives of managing boards from 8 secondary and primary schools at 4 districts of An Nhon, Phu My, Hoai Nhon and Tay Son.

The project has been implemented at some schools over the 4 above-mentioned districts under various channels and manners. Officials, teachers and pupils of the schools under the project are provided basic knowledge of the solid waste and are trained on communication to raise awareness of environment and solid waste at the schools.

At the workshop, the participants shared experiences and results gained during the implementation of the project.

The PMU intends to expand the experimented model of establishing “Organic Waste Bin” at the schools by early 2012.
