The People’s Committee and the Border Guards of central Binh Dinh province on November 13 took three rescued Filipino fishermen to their consulate in Vietnam.

In the waters of Truong Sa archipelago, the distressed fishermen, Frankley Blanca Serna (27), Mamerto Soriano Delos Reyes (34) and Epifanio Delos Santos Agting (47) were rescued by a trawler from Binh Dinh province on October 20.

The Filipinos were examined and given medicine and personal necessities. They are now in good health.

A representative from the Philippines consulate thanked the province and local residents for the help and care they gave to the fishermen during their stay. This reflects the solidarity of fishermen from both countries and contribute to deepening the friendship between Vietnam and the Philippines.

The Binh Dinh People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to the fishermen that rescued the Filipino men.
