Fishermen at coastal localities have built many high-capacity offshore fishing boats, generating high economic effectiveness, according to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The province now sees about 8,000 fishing vessels, in which 2,400 ones have the capacity of up to 90 CV. Most of high capacity fishing vessels operate in such fishing grounds as Spratly islands and Paracel Islands.

The output has been estimated to reach 148,150 tons since early 2012, a surge of 9.3 percent against the same period last year.
