At the meeting, Chairman Loc and the leaders of the provincial agencies introduced about the province’s geographical conditions, socio-economics and its investment promotion policies into the Nhon Hoi EZ. Concerning the Oil Chemistry and Petrochemical Plant construction project, the provincial leaders offered available plot of the construction at the non-tariff zone of Nhon Hoi EZ. Earlier in the week, the provincial leaders had reported to the Prime Minister about the project and got approval of the Prime Minister.

Thailand Petroleum Corporation found that the plot at the non-tariff of Nhon Hoi EZ could satisfy criteria of building a high-tech large oil refinery plant, said Mr. Sukrit Surapotsopon, Deputy CEO of Thailand Petroleum Corporation. The plant was expected to produce about 600.000 barrels/day or 36 million tonnes/year.

Meanwhile, the Thailand company was also interested in Bioethanol production as Binh Dinh and Central Highland provinces had great potential sources of cassava. The KST Co. was completing pre-feasibility study to submit the provincial government by the end of this February.

Chairman Loc expected that the 2 projects was highly feasible and pledged to create favourable conditions for the Thailand investors.
