Rate of under-5 malnourished children falls by 17.27%

In 2011, rate of malnourished children under the age of 5 fell by 17.27%, said Binh Dinh Centre for Reproductive Health.  Number of the under-5 malnourished children in 2011 were 17,940/103,880 while in 2010 were 19,948/107,132 children or 18.62%.

Although the rate of malnourished children under the age was lower in the past years (2% decrease on year basis), it was unequal among areas. In mountainous districts of Van Canh, An Lao and Vinh Thanh, in poor areas, the rate was still high (over 27%).
