PERMANENT PROVINCIAL PARTY COMMITTEE WORKS WITH QUY NHON CITY PARTY COMMITTEE ON QUY NHON’S MASTER PLAN UNTIL 2030:
Quy Nhon city suggested to expand beyond Tuy Phuoc district
13:34', 14/2/ 2012 (GMT+7)

On February 13, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee presided over a meeting with Quy Nhon city Permanent Party Committee on the project of adjusting Quy Nhon’s master plan until 2030 with a vision toward 2050. Deputy secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee also joined the meeting.

At the meeting, leader of Binh Dinh Department of Construction presented draft tasks of adjusting the city master plan until 2030 with a vision toward 2050, which had been drawn up by Binh Dinh Planning and Construction Verification Centre.  After listening the presentation, participants suggested that Quy Nhon city should be expanded. The enlarged city would comprise the existing urban area of the now-Quy Nhon, Tuy Phuoc district and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. Total area of the new city would be about 500 square kilometres. The mergence of the administrative boundaries should be implemented soon and would have finished by 2015, before carrying out the city’s master plan until 2030. Quy Nhon city was expected to become a fist-class, centrally-controlled municipality. In next phase, the city would be continually expanded beyond An Nhon town and certain areas of neighbour districts.

Closing the meeting, Secretary Thien asked the Department of Construction to keep on collect information about master plans of 2 cities of Hue and Nha Trang as basis for comparison and decision of Binh Dinh Permanent Provincial Party Committee. The committee would also consult urban planning experts in Vietnam before coming to a final decision.
