40th anniversary of Go Loi Victory marked

The event celebrates the 40th anniversary of Go Loi Victory

An event was held at An Tuong Tay commune of Hoai An district on April 9, marking the 40th anniversary of Go Loi Victory.

During the anti-US revolutionary war taking place 40 years ago, a special battalion coordinated with local soldiers and guerilla attacked the strategic checkpoint Go Loi, built by US army, liberating An Tuong commune.

The victory started the Spring-Summer campaign in 1972, completely liberating Hoai An on April 19, 1972, Hoai Nhon distric and other northern communes in Phu My district.

Local people and officials living in two communes of An Tuong Tay and An Tuong Dong received the PM’s certificate of merit for their achievements in constructing and defending the country.
