Cultivated area for coconut decreases

According to province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, cultivated area for coconut has a tendency to decrease sharply.

In 2011, the area under cultivation was 13,035 hectares, but being reduced to 9,948 hectares to now. It covers mainly perennial plants, young and new plants are negligible.

Low economic efficiency and inappropriate attention are cause why the cultivated land areas of coconut decreased sharply. Moreover, coconut palm is attacked by a number of insects, destroying many cultivated area for coconut.
