Binh Dinh has 4,000 poultry farms

Poultry flocks all over Binh Dinh have expanding quickly in recent times, says Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture – Rural Development. There are total more than 6.22 million domestic fowls, 10% higher than the same period of last year. In which, 4 millions are chickens, 12.6% higher; more than 2,3 millions are ducks, swans and geese, 5.9% higher. Poultry meat production in Binh Dinh in 2011 reached 10,665 tonnes, 18.5% higher than in 2010; Poultry eggs were more than 344 million, a 5.3% increase.

Poultry farms at large scale and family – scale (200-2,000 fowls/farm) tend to expand quickly with more than 4,000 household farmers; each farmer can earn tens or hundreds of million VND per year.
