14:12', 1/6/ 2012 (GMT+7)

The province’s agriculture competitiveness project management unit held a training course, helping local farmers to follow the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP)-standardized procedures in growing rice.

110 farmer households in Phuoc Quang commune of Tuy Phuoc district were instructed to evaluate land, manage cultivation land, and follow the procedure in using seeds, fertilizer and water as well as harvesting.

The training course was aimed at reducing the use of insecticide and environmental pollution in rice growing to protect health and increase farmers’ income.

The farmers will apply the procedure on an area of 20 hectares in this year’s Summer-Autumn crop.
