A news conference was held in the capital of Ha Noi on July 6, announcing the international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts taking place in Binh Dinh.
The festival is scheduled to be held in Quy Nhon city from August 1-3.
950 athletes of 40 martial arts squads coming from 20 provinces and cities and 317 martial arts practitioners coming from 25 countries and territories registered to join the event.
The festival is expected to include many activities, such as artistic performances, including singing and dancing, classical opera, spoken drama shows, and a beauty contest.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee Mai Thanh Thang said the event is aimed at preserving and developing the quintessence of the traditional culture, particularly long-standing martial arts.
It is also a chance for Binh Dinh to promote its image and tourism, thus boosting the local economy, Thang said.
