Provincial leaders receive Binh Dinh Buddhist Sangha's Executive Board

Permanent Deputy Secretary of provincial Committee of the Party, Pham Van Thanh; Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People's Committee, Nguyen Van Thien received Binh Dinh Buddhist Sangha's Executive Board, led by Thich Thien Nhon, member of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Executive Council cum Chairman of Binh Dinh Sangha's Executive Board, on October 5 at Binh Dinh Province People's Committee's head office.

Binh Dinh Buddhist Sangha successfully held its 6th congress for the 2007-2012 term on September 28-29. The Binh Dinh Buddhist Sangha's Executive Board was newly elected with 39 members involved. Thich Thien Nhon was elected the Chairman of Binh Dinh Sangha's Executive Board for the new term.

At the reception, provincial leaders congratulated the success of Binh Dinh Buddhist Sangha's 6th congress, conveying provincial Committee of the Party and People's Committee's respects to Binh Dinh Sangha's Executive Board.

Two provincial leaders also introduced some main results of Binh Dinh's social-economic situation in 9 months of 2007, including the contributions of Binh Dinh Sangha's Executive Board and monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.

Provincial leaders expressed the hope that Binh Dinh Sangha's newly elected Executive Board would continue implementing religious tasks, contributing to the national unity, in line with the Buddhist charter “Dharma – Nation – Socialism”.

The monk Thich Thien Nhon also thanked for the support of provincial Committee of the Party and People's Committee in the past time and expressed his hope for more positive results.
