Nguyen Chi Hieu, born in November 27, 1984, a Le Quy Don gifted school’s alumnus (Quy Nhon city) has been offered 5 PhD scholarships to study at one of 5 universities in the world, including: University of Cambridge, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (UK), Columbia University, Standford University, and Northwestern University (USA).
Hieu said that he had decided to study the PhD course in economics at the Standford University (USA) – one of the top world-leading universities in economics - with the annual scholarship of US$75,000 for 5 years.
Hieu just graduated with an excellent degree from LSE in June 2007. In 3 years at the LSE he got the best results (to be the first in all school years). In 2006, he was granted the reward as one of the top 100 world excellent students, and before that he had been awarded the title of ‘A-level Student of the Year’ in the UK in 2004.
