After five years of conducting the resolution of the third congress of Binh Dinh’s veterans’ association, members have uphold the traditions of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in contributing to the conduction of social-economic tasks at localities.

Binh Dinh veterans’ association consists of many members who are Party member or army officers. They are the key force of the association and the support for the executive committees of the Party hierarchy, authorities and the people. The association cooperated with other functional bodies to well conduct the public order, the Party congress and the 12th NA election.

After being demobilized, many members were elected leaders in localities and businesses. So far, there have been 725 members elected for the executive committees of the Party hierarchy and more than 1,000 members work at the provincial People’s Council of three levels. Currently, in Binh Dinh’s wards and towns, the rates of veterans who are secretaries and deputy secretaries of the Party committees, presidents of People Councils, and chairman of People’s Committees are of 34%, 44%, and 30% respectively.

Most members of the veterans’ association well finished their tasks, directly contributing to the construction and protection of local Party and authorities. This is the reliable force of the Party and State in successfully conducting the political tasks in the province.

The association encouraged veterans to develop the home economy by doing business, getting the loan, or raising the association’s fund. Thanks to the assistance of the association, many veterans have improved their living standard. Alongside this, the association also help to build houses for poor members and raise money for charity funds.

Recently, the association also cooperated with the Youth Union to held many activities, such as: the visit to revolutionary bases, the healthcare for beneficiaries, or the assistance to war invalids and Agent Orange victims, according to Mr. Nguyen Trong Lu, the chairman of Binh Dinh Veterans’ Association.
