In recent years, many biogas works have been built in the rural areas in Binh Dinh, contributing to decrease the pollution in breeding and increase the usefulness.

Binh Dinh has built over 2,000 SNV Netherlands Development Organisation-aided biogas works in the past 5 years, let alone the others built by breeding farms and households. More 1,000 biogas works will be built in all districts and city in 2007. After being in use, biogas works help decrease the pollution in breeding, producing the organic fertilizer.

A Biogas system is a structure comprising three successive parts: a basin for sand sedimentation, a decomposition basin and a pressure basin. The sand sedimentation basin shall eliminate useless wastes and prevent the reduction of temperature in the decomposition basin when watering with bad influence to gas generation process and gas quality; moreover, the sand sedimentation basin also mitigates the heavy waste quantity overfulling the basin. Due to its advantages in reducing the environmental pollution and producing the organic fertilizer, many biogas works have been built in the whole province.

The scale of biogas works depends on the breeding scale. For the big scale of breeding, a 15 cubic meter biogas cellar is suitable, but with the smaller scale, it needs only a 9 or 6 cubic meter one. “There were 1-2 teams of building workers for building biogas works in each district and city. The biogas works have produced desired effects; for example, they partly contribute to reduce the deforestation and environment pollution and increase the amount of  the cheap fuel for the daily activities and production in rural areas.
