The high-ranking delegation of Champassak province (the Lao People’s Democratic Republic) on September 12 visited Binh Dinh on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years of the signing of full cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Secretary of Binh Dinh’s Party Committee cum Chairman of Binh Dinh province People’s Council, Nguyen Xuan Duong; Member of the Central Party cum Chairman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee, Vu Hoang Ha; Permanent Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Pham Van Thanh; provincial Vice-Chairmen and Chairwoman and leaders of functional bodies received the delegation led by Member of Central Party, Secretary cum Governor of Champassak province, Sukhan Mahalat, accompanied by consul general of Vietnam in Champassak, Nguyen Dang Chat and Champassak province’s leaders of functional bodies and agencies.
Addressing at the solemn reception, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong hailed the visit of Champassak’s high-ranking delegation, saying that the visit would enhance the cooperation between two provinces. He also briefed Binh Dinh’s social-economic situation and highly appreciated results of cooperation programmes in the past time.
Mr. Vu Hoang Ha shared experiences in the social-economic management and programmes for industrialization and modernization of the agriculture and rural areas, tourism development and the poverty alleviation. He said that cooperation projects between two provinces would significantly decide the two sides’ success in the integration and development trend.
Mr. Sukhan Mahalat thanked Binh Dinh’s Party, Government, and the People for their effective help, saying that two provinces’ bodies and localities needed to further the relationship to uphold each side’s potential for the mutual development. He also promised to soon solve difficulties so that cooperation programmes can be effectively conducted.
Champassak’s high-ranking delegation then visited the Thi Nai bridge and the infrastructure in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. In the afternoon on the same day, the delegation left for Southern provinces.
