Vice-Chairwoman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, received Asia Development Bank’s economic-financial expert, Ross Mcleod, on September 19 at the head office of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee. Representatives of provincial Departments of Health, Planning and Investment, and Finance attended the reception.

The project plans to be conducted in eight Central provinces within five years (2008-2013) with the estimated expenditure of US$80 million. The capital, including 80% of ADB loan and 20% of Vietnam’s corresponding capital, will be allocated to each province basing on the population and the proportion of poor households.
The project is intended to invest in the infrastructure, equipment, human resource development, and healthcare services for the poor.
Binh Dinh proposed upgrading some items for the medical treatment at Binh Dinh General Hospital, Hospital of traditional medicine, and Phu My district General hospital and providing medical equipment for other hospitals.
Binh Dinh province’s leaders shared experiences in conducting ODA projects in Binh Dinh with ADB’s expert and pledged to comply with the project, fully providing the corresponding capital after the Government approve the project.
