“Say no to domestic violence” is one of the messages of this year’s communication campaign for gender equality and against domestic violence launched nationwide.

Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee on November 25 held a ceremony attended by thousands of local people, responding to the campaign and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Addressing at the ceremony, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh affirmed that the families are homes of each and cells of a society. The downside of the market economy has badly affected many families, resulting in the generation gap, domestic violence, and other social evils.

Each family has to, therefore, know how to protect its happiness, inherit good traditions, and selectively adapt to new lifestyles, she added.

Vice Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Dang promised that the union will closely cooperate with local authorities and organisations to popularize the domestic violence prevention and gender equality for the advancement of women and the happiness of families.
