Job trading sessions are annually held to help people find suitable jobs. What must be done to make them become more effective? Vice Director of Binh Dinh Department of Labor-War Invalids-Social Welfare, Pham Thi Thu Hong, talks more about this.
Q: Could you brief on job trading sessions in 2008?
A: Binh Dinh Department of Labor-War Invalids- Social Welfare planned to hold 20 job trading sessions in Binh Dinh this year. Localities where there is a high rate of unemployment will be chosen as venues for job trading session. Particularly, mountainous and remote areas will be given priority.
Q: At the meeting on the labor export and job trading session 2008, some said that previous job trading sessions hadn’t been really effective. What are the reasons?
A: Binh Dinh’s economy has rather developed in the past few years. Many enterprises were newly established, attracting a large number of laborers. This means that the unemployment has been decreased.
Also, the propaganda for job trading sessions still limited. Many localities were repeatedly chosen to hold the event.
The organising board and local authorities didn’t closely cooperate with each other. Some localities weren’t really concerned of job trading sessions because they considered this as the duty of provincial Deparment of Labor-War Invalids-Social Welfare.
Q: What will the organising board do to overcome the disadvantages?
A: We will promote the propaganda for job trading sessions, focusing on the direct propaganda in the community.
The organising board and localities will have to closely cooperate for their own responsibilities. The organising board is in charge of selecting enterprises having high demand of employment to participate in the sessions.
The local authorities are to mobilize the unemployment to join job trading sessions.
Q: What are job trading sessions expected to help better the labor export?
A: The job trading session is one of solution to improve the labor export. Many pre-and post-activities of job trading sessions will provide the information on export markets, conditions, expenditure, and living conditions.
With such efforts, the number of laborer going to work abroad is expected to increase in 2008.
