Buddha’s 2552th birthday solemnly celebrated

The provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board solemnly held the celebration of Buddha’s 2552th birthday in Quy Nhon on May 19.

Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, Chairman of Binh Dinh provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Truong Dinh Tan, leaders of Quy Nhon City People’s Committee, and monk, nuns, and Buddhist followers attended the celebration.

At the ceremony, many speeches were delivered to congratulate the United Nations Day of Vesak and Budda’s 2552th birthday.

Speaking at the celebration, Vice Chairwoman Binh, on behalf of provincial leaders, congratulated all superior Buddhist monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers on the occasion of the 2552th Year of the Buddhist calendar.

She affirmed that religious activities have positively changed, contributing to the socio-economic development. Local authorities always created favorable conditions for religious activities, she added.

Participants then carried out the incense offering ceremony and freed birds.
