Meeting responds to World Environment Day

Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee held a meeting responding to the 2008 World Environment Day (June 5) in Binh Dinh Town, An Nhon District on June 4.

Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien and the others attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Thien stressed the significance of this year’s World Environment Day, themed “Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy”.

He called on local authorities, bodies and agencies as well as people to actively respond to the World Environment Day with specific actions such as participating in environmental protection activities, raising the people’s awareness, and reducing the environmental pollution.

Representatives of bodies and agencies also expressed their determination to respond to the World Environment Day.

Provincial Vice Chairman Thien and local leaders then grew 100 trees along the main roads in An Nhon District.
