500 disabled children to receive orthopedics

Binh Dinh People’s Committee has ratified the “Orthopedics and wheelchairs for disabled children” project carried out by the province’s Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs and Quy Nhon Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Centre.

The Social Assistance Program for Vietnam (SAP-VN) funded over USD50,000 to the project and Binh Dinh Children Sponsoring Fund contributed $3,000.

The project will be implemented in 159 communes, wards, and towns from Jan.2010 to Dec. 2012.

Over 1,150 disabled children are expected to benefit from the project.
