This year, the province’s Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs is to hold Mid-Autumn Festival for poor children in far and remote areas, helping them enjoy a significant Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs’ Children Sponsoring Fund presented gifts to 1,375 orphans and poor and disabled children in disadvantaged areas on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Fund also aided the city’s Thi Nai ward with VND10 million to organize Mid-Autumn Festival for 300 poor students from Hoang Quoc Viet primary school and Tay Son junior high school.
Also, Hoai Nhon district was offered VND10 million to help 400 children enjoy the event, the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, falling on October 3 this year. They will be able to gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, eat moon cakes, and carry colorful lanterns.
The province’s Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs also presented gifts to orphans and disabled kids living at Dong Tam Social Sponsoring Centre and Binh Dinh Social Sponsoring Centre.
Van Canh district supported Canh Hien in presenting gifts to poor children and organizing Mid-Autumn Festival. Nine communes in Vinh Thanh district also presented gifts to poor children and offered 10 scholarships to poor but outstanding students.
Disadvantaged children in districts of Tuy Phuoc, An Nhon, Tay Son, Phu My, and other locations in Binh Dinh could enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival thanks to the support from individuals and organizations.
On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, all organizations, families, and provincial bodies of all levels are expected to do their utmost to help all children, particularly poor ones, enjoy their special event.
