15:43', 7/10/ 2009 (GMT+7)

Binh Dinh Veterans’ Association held the 4th emulation congress on “exemplary veteran” in Quy Nhon on Oct. 6 with the participation of 100 representatives of 26,000 veterans in the province.

Lieutenant General Phung Khac Dang, vice president of Vietnam Veterans’ Association and Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Thanh also attended the event.

Over the past five years, the emulation movement “Exemplary Veteran” has become one of the important activities contributing to boosting the efficiency of the association across the province.

The movement helps its members increase their living standard, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, get rich legally and overcome difficulties.

In addition, the association has proved its roles in educating the young generation on the patriotic and revolutionary tradition as well as the national defense and security.

Speaking at the congress, Dang and Thanh congratulated its achievements in the past five years, hoping its affiliates and all veterans to continue to uphold its results.

Binh Dinh Veterans’ Association was honored with the emulation flag from Vietnam Veterans’ Association, let along certificates of merit awarded to many veterans.
