Many cardiac children had to face the death risk because their families are very poor. Binh Dinh Children Sponsoring Fund’s “For the children’s heart” program has brought them a miracle.

The Fund has coordinated with many organizations and hospital, such as East Meets West Foundation, Vina Capital, and Cho Ray Hospital to offer surgery for 39 inborn cardiac children since early this year.

Alongside 146 inborn cardiac children who received surgery in the past two years, 30 are expected to be operated in the coming time when sponsors agree to fund the operation.

The “For the children’s heart” has brought many families happiness. “My children had to suffer the inborn cardiac disease, but we couldn’t afford to operate them. In 2008, we took them to Hue Hospital and had them cured, but the surgery for both was worth VND80 million.” La Duy Khanh’s and La Duy Tien’s mother said. “Fortunately, the province’s Children Sponsoring Fund mobilized sponsors to assist us in having them operated and they are now able to continue to study.”

Bui Thi Bay, living in An Nhon district, was also very happy when her 10-year-old-son was offered surgery with the financial assistance from the Fund and other sponsors. Last year doctors said her son needed operation, but it would cost VND55 million. She then decided to ask the help of the Fund and her son was saved to continue his normal life.

6-year-old Nguyen Thi Ai Vy living in Phu My district had to suffer the cardiac disease when she was born, but her family couldn’t afford her surgery. Binh Dinh Children Sponsoring Fund and some organizations funded her operation, aiming to help her enjoy the happiness as the others.

Cardiac children and their families were really happy when they were offered surgery. The “For the children’s heart” program is actually a miracle, bringing new hope to inborn cardiac children.
