65th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army marked

The Binh Dinh Province Military Headquarters on December 19 held a meeting, marking the 65th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (Dec. 22, 1944 – Dec. 22, 2009) and the 20th anniversary of the Whole People’s National Defense Festival.

The province’s leaders, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, those who were honored with the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title and 650 veterans attended the meeting.

 At the meeting, Head of the province’s Military Headquarter, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Minh, delivered a speech reviewing the tradition of Vietnam People’s Army in the past 65 years, including the contributions of Binh Dinh’s military forces to the country’s construction and defense.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Pham Van Thanh praised the great contributions that soldiers have made to the country in both the wartime and the peacetime.
