The 44th anniversary of Hill 10 victory was held in two communes of Hoai Chau and Hoai Chau Bac, Hoai Nhon District on Jan. 30.
A commando squad from Military Zone 5 and local guerrillas attacked the enemy’s fortifications on the hill 10 44 years ago.
The victory of Hill 10 partly failed the enemy plan in Hoai Nhon District, marking the failure of the “Special war” strategy.
On the same day, the 44th anniversary of Deo Nhong-Duong Lieu victory was also celebrated in Phu My District.
The Yellow Star Division 3, soldiers, and local people in Phu My suddenly attacked Duong Lieu fortification 44 years ago. Other 700 enemies were then killed in an ambush, let alone 4 fired fighters and many military equipment destroyed.
Many festivities were held later, attracting thousands of people to enjoy.
