Binh Dinh Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has opened a training course on improving the working conditions for small and medium-sized companies in the province through the sponsorship of Luxembourg’s “capacity building for practicing labour hygiene and safety in Vietnam” project, aiming to help businesses prevent labour accidents and occupational diseases.
The labour hygiene and safety are much concerned, but the number of labor accidents, occupational diseases, and fire still tends to increase, causing many worries for laborers.
The main reason is that businesses’ owners and employees don’t absolutely follow regulations on the labour safety.
Also, the information to raise their awareness of labor hygiene and safety and measures to improve working conditions haven’t been focused on.
The opening of training course on improving working conditions is expected to help small and medium-sized enterprises in Binh Dinh enhance their understanding and responsibility for labor hygiene and safety.
That was a new model for improving working conditions, said Tran Cong An, a DOLISA official. Unlike previous training courses, participants voluntarily joined the course for they realized it was useful for their businesses.
They also had a chance to visit Binh Dinh Garment JSC after the course, aiming to evaluate its working conditions, An added.
“The course provided easy-to-use measures for participants. They then could apply them at work to curb labour accidents and occupational diseases and improve the business’s operation,” An said.
