The province’s People’s Council (10th tenure) held the 14th extraordinary session on April 4.

The province’s economy has stably grown in the first quarter this year, according to reports released by provincial People’s Committee.

Binh Dinh’s GDP was estimated to reach VND1,6 trillion, a surge of 7.4 percent over the same period last year, but the growth rate was 2.7 percent lower than the corresponding period last year.

The social and cultural activities reaped remarkable results, and the national defense, security and public order were strengthened.

For tasks in the second quarter, the province’s People’s Committee will continue focusing on all fields, aiming to curb the economic regression.

Also, representatives of provincial bodies answered questions on some issues, such as measures to aid the unemployment and ensure social welfare and the industrial production.

The supplementary election was carried out in the session. Accordingly, Ho Quoc Dung, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, was elected Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee.
