Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee promulgated the document on holding activities responding to the World Environment Day on May 11.

The climate change is one of global burning issues, threatening many nations, including Vietnam.

The theme for World Environment Day 2009 is “Your Planet Needs You - Unite to Combat Climate Change.”

Provincial bodies and organisations were asked to focus on raising its staff and community’s awareness of the environmental pollution and climate change as well as their impacts on the human health and socio-economic development.

People were also called on to minimise the discharge of greenhouse effect causing fumes, join environment protection activities, and economically use natural resources.

A meeting marking the World Environment Day at the provincial magnitude and a bike riding tour for students around the city are scheduled to be held on June 5.
