Meeting on natural resources, environment held

A meeting on the State management of natural resources and environment was held in Quy Nhon city on May 13.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen, provincial Vice Chairman Le Huu Loc, and directors of 19 Natural Resources and Environment Departments of central and Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) provinces attended the meeting.

Despite many difficulties, the State management of natural resources and environment in the central and Central Highlands region reaped encouraging results, according to the reports.

The land and environment management also saw dramatical changes, particularly the improvement of the people’s awareness of environment protection. Other related issues were also focused on.

Participants presented shortcomings and difficulties in the State management as well as the inefficiency of some under-Law documents.

Minister Nguyen acknowledged their contributions, confirming the role of provinces and cities in the natural resources and environment issue.
