Economy grows despite difficulties

At the meeting

Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee held its 15th meeting, discussing the province’s socio-economic situation in the first six months and tasks in the next six months.

Vu Hoang Ha, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, and other officials presided the meeting taking place on July 9 in Quy Nhon city.

After Ha had delivered his opening speech, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Pham Van Thanh, presented the report on the first six months’ socio-economic situation and tasks and solutions in next months.

According to the report, the province’s economy has gained considerable growth in the first six months.

The local GDP increased by 8.3 percent. Also, other social and cultural activities have been improved and the security and public order are kept stable.

However, there were still shortcomings and difficulties requiring much effort to fulfill tasks in the next six months.

Participants discussed causes affecting the province’s socio-economic situation and measures to fulfill tasks in the coming time, particularly in fields of agriculture, industry, and trade.

Speaking at the meeting, Ha asked provincial bodies and agencies to focus on implementing seven measures for fields of industry - construction, agriculture, trade, culture, society, and national defense – security.
