The quarantine zone for A/H1N1 flu-infected patients at Binh Dinh General Hospital. |
The first case of A/H1N1 flu was reported in Binh Dinh in a 10 year old boy in Nguyen Van Cu ward, Quy Nhon city, yesterday.
The boy and his aunt visited their relative in HCM City on July 18. He had been taken to visit many public places until he was found to have a high body temperature on July 25.
He was diagnosed as having unknown virus fever and given tablets to help the temperature go down.
He returned to Quy Nhon on July 26.
On August 3, his aunt said he had recovered before he had symptoms of fatigue and found difficult breathing two days later. The boy has been hospitalized on July 29.
He has been under treatment and quarantine at Binh Dinh General Hospital after doctors found he showed suspicious symptoms of H1N1 flu.
Nha Trang Pasteur Institute on August 3 confirmed the boy was tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus.
The province’s Center for Preventive Health had also listed those who met the boy and monitored their temperature twice a day. Alongside this, four members in his family, who directly contacted with him, were instructed to boost preventive measures against suspicious symptoms of H1N1 flu.
The boy is now in stable condition but he has still been under treatment in quarantine.
This is the first H1N1 case reported in Binh Dinh, but all procedures to prevent the spread of the A (H1N1) virus have been carried out effectively.
It’s necessary to monitor those who come from A/H1N1 flu-infected areas and have symptoms of cough and fever, but not all cases returning from infected areas must be kept in quarantine, said vice director of Binh Dinh Health Department Le Quang Hung.
