Some enterprises in the province’s industrial zones had to curtail their production and lay off workers several months ago due to the global economic recession. They are now receiving many new contracts and beginning to recruit laborers.
Recruitment campaigns
Going around industrial zones in Binh Dinh these days, people could see many posters for recruitment. Many enterprises urgently requiring new workers even had their old employees find laborers in their localities or far and remote areas.
Statistics released by the provincial functional body showed that nearly 20 wood processing companies in the Phu Tai industrial zone are requiring about 2,000 workers, such as Tien Dat company, Nhu Y Co., Ltd, Duyen Hai Co., Ltd, and My Tai Co., Ltd.
They are recruiting new laborers with preferential treatment, but there are not still enough workers for their production.
An enterprise’s owner in Phu Tai industrial zone said his company had signed a new contract. It, therefore, needed to recruit 200 workers, but only several tens of laborers have been recruited so far.

“Failure” at jobs market
Binh Dinh Job Centre held the fifth jobs market in Quy Nhon city and Tay Son district in September 19 and 20, aiming to help job seekers and companies recruiting laborers.
About 8,000 laborers were needed in this session, but there still existed the shortage of workers after the jobs market had ended.
During two days, many people came to seek employment opportunities; however, most focused on office positions.
Tien Dat company, My Tai Co., Ltd, and other enterprises joined the market, but recruiting new workers seemed a hopeless tasks for them.
Alongside better pay, many companies offered some preferential treatment, such as financial support, health insurance, bonus, and other favorable conditions; still, they couldn’t find enough workers.
Reports said that over 1,000 job seekers came to the jobs market during two days, but only 51 manual workers, 24 skilled workers, and 49 highly qualified employees were recruited. The figure hasn’t meet the demand for recruitment.
