Honors for elderly to mark International Day

To mark the International Day for the Elderly (Oct.1), two delegations led by Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Vu Hoang Ha and Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Thanh on Sept. 28 visited centenarians in Quy Nhon and Hoai Nhon district.

Ha and his entourage visited Vo Thi Mai, 104, Pham Thi Duoc, 102, Bui Thi Thong, 100, and Nguyen Thi Lu, 109, in Quy Nhon city.

In Hoai Nhon district, Thanh and the delegation presented gifts to Le Thi Lua, 100, Nguyen Thi Hang, 103, and Pham Thi Tu, 102, who are Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

Other elderly people in the district also received gifts from the local authority as part of the international day.

The province’s leaders wished them good health and hoped that they would continue to be a reliable mainstay of their children.
