A meeting on experience in flood relief in the central region was jointly held by the Central Vietnam Calamities Relief Fund, the Department for Dyke Management and Flood and Storm Prevention, and Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee in Quy Nhon city on December 20.
The participants shared valuable experiences in preventing the damage and minimizing civilian casualties caused by floods and storms in the central region in the past two years.
They also talked about the issues related to the flood aftermath, such as the environmental pollution, the supply of clean water, and the distribution of relief aids.
The functional bodies were also asked to support disaster-prone areas in upgrading infrastructure and medical clinics.
On the same day, Chairman of the Management Council for the Central Vietnam Calamities Relief Fund visited the Cat Nhon No.2 primary school which has been put into operation since early December.
The school was newly built with the total capital of over VND2.4 billion of which the Fund finances VND1.7 billion and the Phu Cat district contributes the rest.
