A meeting was held in Quy Nhon on March 5, celebrating the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day (Mar.8) and the 1970th anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

Many leaders of provincial bodies and agencies and women attended the ceremony.

Women's Day was first promulgated in 1910 in Copenhagen at the International Conference of Working Women.

In Vietnam, the International Women’s Day is also the anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

At the meeting, Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Women’s Union delivered a speech, reviewing the tradition of working women all over the world and great contributions of Vietnamese women to the struggle for national independence, construction and defence.
