The delegation of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee headed by Permanent Deputy Secretary Nguyen Thanh Tung paid a working visit to Vinh Thanh district on March 9.

The district’s socio-economic situation reaped positive results last year, according to the reports. Its total GDP increased by 14.7 percent in 2009, let alone the changes in fields of education, health, and culture.

The district targets at the GDP growth rate of 15.8 percent in 2010, of which the agricultural-forestry-fishery products increase by 9.4 percent; trade and services 20.6 percent.

Hydroelectric projects’ owners are now carrying out the compensation for land clearance and building many items. However, the slow progress of compensation and land clearance hasn’t met the demand of the local authority and people.

Tung highly valued the district’s achievements, reminding the district’s leaders to focus on the synchronous development of ago-forestry-fishery products.

Also, he asked the local authorities to strengthen activities in fields of culture, education, and health.

The owners of hydroelectric projects must effectively carry out the compensation and land clearance and build resettlement areas, helping the locals settle their life, Tung emphasized.
