In late March the province’s Youth Union visited four orphans in a family in Nhon An commune, An Nhon district. Many benefactors and social bodies have helped them a lot in the past two years. They are only four out of 279 orphans across the province.

Console their sadness

In early 2008, their parents passed away owing to serious diseases, four children in Nhon An commune have become orphans since then. The oldest one, Phan Thi Hanh Thuy, is only 10 years old whilst her youngest brother is just a 16-month-baby.

Binh Dinh Youth Union and many benefactors helped them at once, offering them a savings account of 100 million VND. “When they visit us and give me advice, I feel happy and are determined to study well,” Thuy said.

Many children have unfortunately become orphans after their parents suddenly passed away. The province’s Youth Union and its affiliates quickly visited them and helped them overcome difficulties.

Truong Cong Hung and Truong Tuan Nghia are brothers whose parents were dead in a flood in late 2009. They are now living with their grandfather in Dap Da town. Tuoi Tre Newspaper called on its readers to help them and the provincial Youth Union’s affiliates launched a campaign to collect presents for them. As a result, Nghia and Hung were presented a savings account of 10 million VND and many valuable presents.

Let’s help them!

The province’s Youth Union and its affiliates have helped 279 orphans in the past three years through the “Helping orphans” campaign. Each Youth Union member also “reaped” practical lessons when joining such activities.

The province’s border guards visited and presented gifts to two orphans, Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan and Dinh Cao Cuong, living with their grandmother in Hai Cang ward, Quy Nhon city. Their parents had a traffic accident and died afterward.

The Binh Dinh-based Vietcombank’s Youth Union affiliate in Phu Tai decided to offer a financial assistance of 600,000 per month to Nguyen Le Gia Linh and Nguyen Le Gia Bao whose parents were dead from a traffic accident.

The campaign has been promoted with more activities, aimed at helping orphans overcome their difficulties. Alongside their own fund, many Youth Union affiliates mobilized the support from benefactors.

“We will strive to help all orphans in Binh Dinh and find solutions to call for the help from the community and businesses,” said Ly Tiet Hanh, deputy secretary of Binh Dinh Youth Union.
