A meeting was held by the Binh Dinh Journalists Association on June 18, celebrating Vietnam’s 85th Revolutionary Journalism Day, which falls on June 21.

Prominent amongst the guests at the event were Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Thien, Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Thanh Tung, and former provincial leaders.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, President of Binh Dinh Journalists Association, Vo Xuan Phung, reviewed the milestones in the development of the Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism in the past 85 years.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Thien extended greetings to journalists and the staff of news agencies, acknowledging their contributions and achievements in recent years.
He emphasized that the press should promote its strong points and surmount its shortcomings to better fulfill its role and responsibility as an important and reliable information channel of the Party and State.
He also asked for more articles about the “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's exemplary morals” campaign, contributing to the province’s construction and development
On this occasion, “For the press career” campaign medals were bestowed on seven provincial and former provincial leaders and three veteran journalists who greatly contributed to the province’s press career. Also, some journalists winning this year’s provincial press award were honored during the meeting.
