Binh Dinh Province is one of stops of the Vietnam Never Stops Growing Milk Fund’s journey, bringing 8 million glasses of milk to Vietnamese children. Coming to Binh Dinh, the Fund offered 19000 glasses of milk to disadvantaged primary school students in mountainous district of Van Canh.

Vice Chairman of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children Le Huy Con and Executive Manager of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), the main sponsor of the fund, also joined the journey to Binh Dinh.

Van Canh district is the home of many ethnic minority children who face many difficulties. The Fund, thus, decided to stop in Van Canh during its journey.

“Binh Dinh now has 429,753 children, including 29.7 percent of under-5 malnourished ones,” said Con. “The figure urged us to help them and we hope that all bodies will focus on children, giving disabled, underprivileged, and ethnic minority children equal opportunities to develop.”

The fund has effectively operated since early this year with the aim at bringing 8 million glasses of milk to nearly 90000 poor children in Vietnam.

The fund originates from the One Million Glasses of Milk for Poor Vietnamese Children Fund, a corporate social responsibility campaign initiated by Vinamilk and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children in 2008 with the aim of sharing difficulties with underprivileged and malnourished children and helping reduce the ratio of malnourished children nationwide.

On the foundation of the Six Glasses of Milk Fund and to open this meaningful program to the public, starting in early 2010, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has given permission to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children to implement the Vietnam Never Stops Growing Milk Fund to mobilize more social resources to contribute to ensure “every kid has the right to drink milk every day.”
