About 200 disabled students of Quy Nhon’s Hy Vong (Hope) school and Dong Tam Social Sponsoring Center began their new school year on September 3.
The Hy Vong School has opened two more classes for hearing-impaired students this year. Its infrastructure was improved and the number of teaching staff has become stable, said the school’s headmaster Tran Gia Tin.
Despite many difficulties, the Dong Tam Social Sponsoring Center has still continued to open a class for 19 disabled students in the new school year of 2010-2011. “We will try our best to help them integrate into the community and we also hope that many organizations and individuals will share the difficulties with us,” said the center’s director Tran Cong.
Attending the new school year opening ceremony at the Hy Vong School, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh hailed its all-out effort in its first school year of 2009-2010, expressing the hope that all teachers will pay more attention to their students.
“The Department of Education and Training should create more preferential conditions for the school, helping it receive more disabled students,” she said.
The Nguyen Tran senior high school located in Hoai Nhon district on September 4 held the new school year opening ceremony, which also marked its 30th anniversary of the establishment of the school.
The Hoai Nhon senior high school No.2 was set up 30 years ago, aiming to meet the demand for studying in 6 communes in the northern part of the district. It has been renamed Nguyen Tran senior high school which has reaped many achievements since then.
