The Binh Dinh Province People’s Court held a ceremony, marking the 65th anniversary of the Vietnam’s People’s Court sector, on September 13.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung and other officials attended the ceremony.

65 years ago, on September 13 1945, the Government issued a decree abolishing the court system run by the feudal colonialists and set up military courts across the country.

The Binh Dinh People’s Court has tried nearly 63,000 cases of all kinds since it was established 35 years ago. A staff of 10 worked in the province’s People’s Court sector in its early days and the figure has reached 191 now.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Deputy Secretary Tung hailed the sector’s achievements and underlined the need to improve the quality of trials to minimise the number of rejected cases and ensure that verdicts are implemented within the law.
