Children are making five-star lanterns

A full-moon festival was jointly held by Binh Dinh’s Youth Union, Department of Labour, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, and the Municipal People’s Committee on September 20.

Many activities took place after the opening ceremony, such as the drawing contest entitled “My dreams”, the mask-making competition, the lantern-making competition, and a musical performance.

Students coming from secondary school in Quy Nhon joined the festival.

The event will see more activities, including folk games and a programme for 500 poor students and homeless orphans, on September 21-22.

The Tuy Phuoc district People’s Committee offered VND12 million to present gifts to 4,031 children. The district’s poor and disadvantaged children will be also presented full-moon gifts worth VND50,000 each.

800 orphans and underprivileged children in Quy Nhon also received gifts on September 20. The Municipal People’s Committee offered 300 gifts to 8 suburban wards and communes, helping underprivileged children enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.
