This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival focuses on the theme “Creating equal chances for children”. Binh Dinh Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs has cooperated with other relevant bodies and agencies to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival for poor children, ensuring that all children will enjoy their special event.

The Binh Dinh’ Fund for Children spent VND126 million on gifts for 1,430 poor and disabled children and those living in remote and underprivileged areas this year.
1,100 poor children will be granted 50,000-VND worth moon cakes. 330 underprivileged children will be offered 100,000-VND gifts, in which 50,000 VND in cash and 50,000-VND worth moon cakes.
100 orphans or disabled children at Nhon Tho commune, An Nhon district will be given 50,000-VND worth gifts. Dong Tam Social Protection Centre, the provincial Social Protection Centre and the Quy Nhon Hy Vong (Hope) Specialized School will be granted VND1 million each as gifts for the orphan and disabled children staying there.
The province’s Youth Union is also organizing a “Mid-Autumn Festival” for children all over the province.
In Quy Nhon city, the “Mid-Autumn Festival” will be jointly held by the province’s Youth Union and the municipal People’s Committee from September 20-22.
More than 1,000 children are expected to join the festival’s activities: painting contest, lantern-making contest, mask-making contest, folk games, unicorn dance and music performance.
100 orphans will be granted 200,000-VND worth gifts while 400 poor children will be given 100,000-VND worth gifts during the 3-day festival.
11 districts and the city will also offer 2,864 gifts for children with the total cost of VND192 million. 9 districts will organize mass gatherings; each gathering is expected to attract 250-500 children. Total cost for the mass gathering organization is estimated to reach VND143 million.
A Mid-Autumn mass gathering for 250 children will be held in the mountainous district of Vinh Thanh and gifts worth VND39 million will be offered to 30 children.
Children at Hoai Son commune, Hoai Nhon district will have a chance to enjoy the full-moon festival with the total cost of VND 2 million.
In An Nhon district, 400 gifts worth 50,000 VND each will be presented to children and children at Nhon An commune will join a Mid-Autumn festival.
Tuy Phuoc district will offer 164 gifts worth VND100,000 each; meanwhile, Van Canh district will offer 100 gifts worth VND50,000-100,000 each.
159 commune, wards, towns, enterprises and organizations have donated gifts and held many activities, helping children enjoy their festival.
