After the provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Thien had beaten the drum, all activities started. Many art performances were showed at the launching ceremony. Thousands of students joined the performances, creating a jubilant atmosphere.
As soon as the ceremony ended, Youth Union members began to carry out different activities. Alongside the parade to spread the information about the Year of Youth, more than 300 Youth Union members also visited and offered presents and drugs to 700 local residents in communes of Cat Chanh and Cat Thang, Phu Cat district.
They also kicked off the construction of three houses for poor households in An Lao and Tay Son districts, responding to the “Day of Youth Acting for the Poor”.
Various events are expected to be continued from January 3-9, aiming to respond to the “Day of Youth Acting for Disadvantaged Kids”, “Day of Youth Acting for Environment”, “Day of Youth Acting for National Border” and Culture-Sport Festival for Students.
The Year of Youth 2011 also focuses on the celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The Binh Dinh’s Youth Union, thus, implemented many programs, such as planting at least 1,000 trees, offering vocational training and employment opportunities to 2,000 Youth Union members, and donating at least VND50 million to underprivileged children.
The Year of Youth 2011 is expected to see an ebullient emulation atmosphere among young people and their solidarity to resolve difficult tasks in the community.
“This year is a chance for the youth to prove their competence,” said Secretary of Quy Nhon Municipal Youth Union, Dang Manh Cuong. “We are proud of playing a pioneering role in all aspects and we will strive to fulfill all tasks, meeting expectations.”
The success of the Year of Youth requires not only each Youth Union member’s all-out effort but the authorities of all levels and the whole community.
